Trauma Informed Astrology Values

Safety

The first step in repairing the nervous system is to establish some safety and stability. We must have a solid foundation before we explore ambiguous new areas. We approach people where they are and we invite them to move toward greater safety. If there is a breech or disruption, we make every effort to reestablish trust and safety. Safe pace, safe space, safe to connect with self and other. We understand that we can never go too deep, but we can easily go too fast.

Trust & Transparency

In the very first class for certification, we unpack the Four Levels of Trust. We understand that when there is a breech of trust, we need to make repair. True repair requires authentic remorse and humility. We make every effort to own and acknowledge our stuff. Life is challenging and it is imperative to lean into good company and support. This is especially true if we want to hold a safe space for the healing and repair of trauma.

Peer Support

Another important value is peer support. As we mention above, leaning into support and good company is vitally important when working with heavy levels of stress and overwhelm. We make the commitment to do our own work and to receive support so we can be as resilient and robust as possible for our clients and students.

Collaboration & Mutuality

With everything we offer, we agree to lean into mutual support and well-wishing. We are respectful of our many differences, we appreciate diversity and inclusivity. We are all interconnected and we benefit from everyone feeling safe, comfortable and welcomed.

Empowerment, Voice & Choice

These values go along with establishing a safe container. As practitioners, we must give people choice. Only then can the nervous system feel safe to explore difficult content. We welcome participants and clients to find their voice - only when we have full access to our “No” can we discover our “YES!” And we want to empower our clients. The idea is for clients to learn how to self-regulate, to understand their nervous systems. This leads to greater acceptance and ease.

Cultural, Historical & Gender Issues

Once we establish the values above, then we can get into these necessary topics. We welcome diverse groups, populations and backgrounds. We take into account cultural, historical and gender issues regarding privilege, oppression, and intersectionality. We values differences and yearn to learn from them.
